Does your church offer a safe environment for children? Be sure.
Engage in child sexual abuse prevention training and awareness. Host trainings, with clear expectations of staff and volunteers to attend. Make it available to all of your congregation as well. Parents and guardians will thank you! Training provides excellent opportunity and environment in which to discuss child protection policies and best practices. Help everyone, staff, volunteers, parents, and guardians, know the why behind the what of child protection policies. Policies to protect children also protect the church, staff, and volunteers. Get your whole team on board! Your team will be more unified, parents and children more empowered regarding safety, and potential church-goers will know they can trust that their children will be as safe as possible.
