Connect 4 Faith is the lead and founding organization for the CSA Prevention Initiatives of Alamance, Caswell, and Person Counties, as well as expansion through our newest Authorized Facilitator to Danville, VA.
Through community collaboration, awareness is raised at a higher and more effective level, leading to more adults trained to protect children. It's up to us to protect them. Not one individual. Not one organization. Not one provider. Statistically TEN children are better protected for every ONE adult trained. Be one. Be a steward of children.

PREVENTION IS THE KEY!!
Prevention IS possible. Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) is preventable. It will only be prevented if we, the adults of the community, take responsible action to protect our children and advocate for them. Statistics show 1 in 10 children are sexually abused by their eighteenth birthday. These statistics don't even include non-contact acts of abuse.
CHECK YOUR AREA FOR OFFENDERS
Look up offenders in your area through the North Carolina Department of Public Safety website. Click the link below to see the "Acceptable Use Policy." If you agree to that, you'll go to a page to choose your search method.

There are also useful resources and references through the NC Department of Justice website.
Remember that just because someone passes a background check, doesn't mean they can or should have freedom around children. Many (experts believe most) cases of child sexual abuse are never reported. Therefore, many offenders are never prosecuted or on any type of registry. Always actively follow safe practices and policies to protect children.

Our primary training tool for child sexual abuse prevention training is Darkness to Lights Stewards of Children. This is a two to three-hour evidence-based program utilizing an interactive workbook for each participant. This becomes a valuable personal resource. Contact hours for continued education are available for social workers and nurses. In-service hours are available for preschool and daycare workers upon advance request.
We can accomplish a cultural change to help eradicate this crime. Be one who helps stop a child from being abused. By preventing abuse, you could also help prevent child exploitation, substance abuse, homelessness, human trafficking, trauma disorders, suicide, teen pregnancy, mental and behavioral health issues, and other health-related issues often associated with child sexual abuse.
Additional training topics offered:
What is Child Sexual Abuse?
WHO'S AT RISK? Everyone!
Child Sexual Abuse does not discriminate. This crime happens among all socioeconomic and education levels, races, religions and backgrounds.
Contact us for training information, scheduling, or additional resources. We offer training for prevention and awareness of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Join the Prevention Initiative. Our goal is to train 6000 adults in Alamance County in child sexual abuse prevention. This is a number which can lead to a change in the culture around us. Our culture should be one that does not tolerate abuse and takes responsible action against it. Through training and awareness of the issues adults can learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to abuse.
Preventing child sexual abuse (CSA) helps prevent the modern-day slavery of domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST). It is estimated that greater than 90% of children who become victims of exploitation or trafficking were first victims of CSA.
We offer presentations and training by Shared Hope International, an organization focused on putting an end to human trafficking. Trainings are facilitated by an Ambassador of Hope and are appropriate for adults and youth. Visit our Prevent Minor Sex Trafficking page or contact us to learn more. Visit SharedHope.org.
Learn about human trafficking in Alamance County through a local coalition group, Alamance for Freedom (AFF). They collaborate with local service providers to deal with the issues of human trafficking in Alamance County, as well as provide trainings. See our "C4 Other Resources" page for more information about AFF.
